Position: Administrative Assistant

Type: Part Time (15-25 hours/week)

The Town of Bowdoin is seeking applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant. This position reports to and works directly with the Select Board for the Town of Bowdoin.

Responsibilities include:

  • Bi-weekly payroll processing.
  • Monthly report processing for the State of Maine.
  • Quarterly report processing for the Internal Revenue Services (IRS).
  • Worker’s Compensation processing and claims associated, as well as quarterly reports for the State of Maine.
  • Quarterly unemployment reports for the State of Maine.
  • Quarterly risk management reports for the State of Maine.
  • Establish and maintain contracts and processes for the Town of Bowdoin plow driver contracts.
  • General Human Resources work:
    • New-hire paperwork
    • Manage employment applications
    • File and maintain employee records
  • General office work:
    • Collect, distribute, and send mail
    • Receive and file correspondence received via phone, email, and fax for the Select Board and ensure correspondence is available for review every Monday evening for Select Board Meetings.
